The American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing & Community Development Law will be hosting a panel to discuss careers in this field. Panelists include Cynthia Bast '91, Partner with Locke, Lord Bissell & Liddell; Monita Johnson-Henley, Attorney with Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs; Debra L. Loya, Chief Counsel with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (San Antonio); and Veronica Rodriguez, Staff Attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid. Moderated by Heather Way ’96, Director of the UT Law Community Development Clinic. Practitioners of affordable housing and community development law work within the fields of traditional corporate, business, real estate, tax and nonprofit law to create affordable housing, equity funds, schools, community-based financial institutions, green jobs and buildings, child care centers, and health care facilities.
