The Declaration of Intent to Study Law is to be filed by all persons who have begun their law study at ABA-approved schools in Texas for the Spring semester and intend to apply for licensure in Texas.

Your Declaration must be filed or postmarked by October 1st to be considered timely-filed. A $150 late fee will be imposed on all Declarations filed after May 1st.

The TX BLE office is not open on weekends; if you would like to hand deliver your completed application by the end of the Friday April 29 business day, the TX BLE office is located at:

205 W. 14th St. Ste 500, Austin, TX 78701

You're encouraged to arrive well in advance of the 5 PM closing time.

Late-filing Declarants may file at any time prior to or concurrent with the filing of their In-State Application to Take the Texas Bar Exam.

We will also be discussing new electronic resources available through the Library.

Tarlton Law Library is offering special research training for law students on Wednesday, May 18 at 2pm in TNH 3.126. We will explain how to find e-journals and link directly to their text though our TALLONS catalog, and will highlight important electronic journals and databases that are offered through the UT General Libraries. We will also go over administrative details like how to check out materials for faculty from various UT libraries and interlibrary loan and answer any questions you may have.
