Please join us for the first event in our spring Human Rights Happy Hour Speaker Series. Professor Jorge Contesse of the Universidad Diego Portales in Chile will present a talk entitled “Inter-American Constitutionalism: The Creation and Internalization of Human Rights.” The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Monday, February 20th, from 3:30-5:30pm, in TNH 3.142 at the University of Texas School of Law. Daniel Brinks, Associate Professor of Government and Co-Director of the Rapoport Center, will serve as a respondent to his talk.

Come participate in an anti-trafficking event sponsored by the Human Rights Law Society! You will be given the identity of a fictional trafficking victim and will have to navigate the hurdles that he or she would face in accessing legal and social services. The bar exam includes 200 multiple choice questions in six basic areas of law, including Contracts. In this session, students will review basic portions of Contract law with our own Professor David Sokolow in preparation for the July Bar exam. Students will also answer sample bar questions on Contracts, using skills learned in earlier sessions.

Envisioned as a follow-up to Texas Law Review’s groundbreaking 1991 symposium issue on financial innovation, also in partnership with Professor Hu, this event will bring together exceptional academics, practitioners, and regulators to present papers examining various elements of the current financial landscape.
