Coming at a time of year when many students are navigating on-campus recruiting, Joshua Katz, partner at Bickerstaff Heath Delgago Acosta LLP, and Paulina Williams, senior associate at Baker Botts LLP, will offer perspectives on practicing environmental law in a law firm setting.

This session is for those UT students interested in hearing about career and internship opportunities with the U.S. Department of State. Presented by the LBJ School of Public Affairs.

This session is for those individuals interested in taking the Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT) that will be given in October 2013, or interested in taking a later administration of the test. Welcome event for 1L students set up by the WWJC in collaboration with UT Law student organizations around campus. We will have speakers followed by heavy appetizers in the later afternoon.

Learn about the American Constitution Society --- UT Law's home for students interested in progressive lawyering. ACS is a national organization comprised of law students, lawyers, and legal professionals who are working to ensure that the fundamental principles of human dignity, individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, and access to justice are in their rightful, central place in American law.

The first skills session of the year will discuss all of those things you've heard about how to do well in law school. Learn which ones are myths and which can actually help!

This program is highly recommended for 2Ls who are considering applying for judicial clerkships as rising 3Ls. Get tips on selecting courts and judges, asking for letters of recommendation, and putting together a strong application. Cookies and drinks will be served.

The Environmental Law Society will hold its first meeting of the year this Wednesday, September 11th at 4:00pm in Room 2.137. All are welcome! At this meeting we will introduce the officers, go over this year's activities, answer any questions, select 1L Section Representatives, and collect dues ($15 for the year, which includes a T-shirt).

Come learn about opportunities to practice law in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps program, including the internship program. LT Lauren E. Hugel, JAGC, USN, and Staff Judge Advocate (Fort Worth) will be available to answer questions about the Navy in general, the U.S. Navy JAG Corps program specifically, and will assist students in application process should they decide to apply.
