    FedSoc: An Rx for American Health Care

    Join us next Tuesday for free lunch at the Texas Federalist Society's first event of the semester!

    Merrill Matthews, PhD, will discuss the current state of health care in America. Topics will likely include ObamaCare implementation difficulties and delays, as well as continued legal challenges to defund the legislation.

    A weekly contributor to Forbes.com, Dr. Matthews is the resident health policy scholar at the Institute for Policy Innovation, and was past head of the Council for Affordable Health Care. Additionally, Dr. Matthews is a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Texas Advisory Committee.

    Public Service Table Talk

    Representatives from dozens of public interest organizations as well as federal and state government agencies will be on hand to answer questions about what they do and how you can assist them. Find out about volunteer opportunities, summer internships and paid positions with a variety of nonprofits, legal services providers and government agencies. All UT Law students are encouraged to attend.

    TRESL's Annual Symposium

    The Texas Review of Entertainment & Sports Law is hosting its annual symposium Friday, September 13 in the Eidman Courtroom. The event will take place from 9:00 to 4:00 with various panels and discussions taking place throughout the day. Topics include athletes asserting their trademark rights, athlete and league battles, crowdfunding in the entertainment industry, and the effect of streaming services on traditional media. Breakfast pastries will be served and lunch will be provided by Career Services.
