Merrill Matthews, PhD, will discuss the current state of health care in America. Topics will likely include ObamaCare implementation difficulties and delays, as well as continued legal challenges to defund the legislation. A weekly contributor to Forbes.com, Dr. Matthews is the resident health policy scholar at the Institute for Policy Innovation, and was past head of the Council for Affordable Health Care. Additionally, Dr. Matthews is a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Texas Advisory Committee. The event will take place from 9:00 to 4:00 with various panels and discussions taking place throughout the day. Topics include athletes asserting their trademark rights, athlete and league battles, crowdfunding in the entertainment industry, and the effect of streaming services on traditional media.
