Panel Discussion / Speaker Series

TJCLCR's annual conference. This year's topic will be about same sex marriage. We will have a lunch panel discussing “what’s next” for same-sex couples after the (anticipated) resolution of the same-sex marriage debate, including issues such as: religious refusals of service, the controversial movement for protective anti-discrimination ordinances, and the myriad federal statutes which confer benefits based on marital status. The panel will also discuss counselling same-sex couples as they encounter various issues in family law and estate planning. Finally, the panel will discuss the upcoming and much-anticipated Supreme Court cases slated for oral argument in March. The panel will consist of four attorneys active in this field.
