    TLF Application Opens

    The Texas Law Fellowships (TLF) application will be available beginning Monday March 9th at texaslawfellowships.org.

    TLF funds Texas Law students who complete 400 hours of unpaid work in the public interest at qualifying organizations during the summer.

    Townes Hall Morning Coffee

    On Monday, January 26th, Jones Day and the Texas Law Alumni Association is pleased to announce that it will kick off its Spring 2015 Townes Hall Morning Coffee for all students every Monday morning. Please bring your favorite travel mug from home (we are “going green,” so no paper products will be provided) and enjoy FREE coffee every Monday morning to start off your week on behalf of Jones Day and the Alumni Association. Coffee will be located at one, large station located near the 1L Classrooms (by TNH 2.140, TNH 2.139, etc.) beginning at 8:45 am.

    Joe Noel, Reference Librarian and Lecturer with the Tarlton Law Library will talk about legal research strategies for summer clerkship assignments. He’ll discuss how to familiarize yourself with your firm's research environment, what questions to ask when you receive an assignment, and best practices for deciding where to start your research.

    Thurgood Marshall Legal Society presents Southern Comfort: Chicken & Waffles Fundraiser. On Tuesday March 10th, TMLS will be in the Susman Godfrey Atrium selling southern style breakfast from 12:00 pm – 2:30pm. This semester, TMLS is offering a choice of Chicken with Belgian Waffles for $7 per plate and Chicken and Blueberry or Apple Streusel Waffles for $8 per plate.     Careers in International Law

    The State Bar of Texas International Law Section and the Career Services Office present an informal talk by lawyers who practice international law. Come learn the different paths each of the participants took out of law school to become international lawyers. Learn about what their practice is like (big firm, in-house, business and boutique) and learn the pros and cons of practicing international law. The presentation will be informal with ample opportunity for questions and to meet the participants. If you are interested in international law, don’t miss this presentation!

    Marriage Equality at the Lege

    Join UT Law's ACS on March 12 in TNH 3.125 for a discussion on the marriage equality movement in Texas from the early 1970s to the present.

    Our guest speaker will be former State Representative Glen Maxey. Glen Maxey was Texas' first openly LBGTQ representative and served from 1991 - 2003. Maxey is also a founding member of AIDS Services of Austin and Equality Texas.
