What's Advocacy? Why Advocacy? 1L Panel

What’s Advocacy? Why Advocacy? Lawyers mistakenly believe that advocacy is a skill only litigators need, but nothing could be further from the truth. No matter what type of law you plan to practice, honing your advocacy skills can’t hurt. As a matter of fact, it can only help. Advocacy skills are not only necessary for being successful in a courtroom. Everyone needs to know how to be persuasive and how to present themselves in a positive light. Getting hired, recruiting clients, working successfully with other attorneys, all made easier when you take the time to become a better advocate.

Panelists and small group facilitators will include judges, firm hiring partners, faculty, recent graduates, etc.

All 1Ls are encouraged to attend no matter what type of law you plan to practice upon graduation.
