A panel of international law practitioners based in Texas will answer student questions about their current practice and how to start or develop a career in international law. Speakers include experts in Immigration, Litigation, Energy Transactions, Labor and Employment and International Financial Markets.

Eric J. Cassidy, Berg & Androphy

Eric Cassidy is a University of Texas Law School graduate who practices as a trial lawyer in Houston, advocating for clients in high stakes litigation. Eric’s expertise includes commercial litigation, international arbitration, financial and regulatory investigations and compliance, and white collar criminal defense.

Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, Lincoln-Goldfinch Law

Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch is a University of Texas Law School graduate who practices as an immigration lawyer in Austin, focusing on family-based immigration, deportation defense and humanitarian cases. Kate’s dedication to immigration work started in the Immigration Clinic at UT; she is active in pro-bono and non-profit work, and is on the board of the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association and the Austin Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Section. Kate has won numerous awards and recognition for her work on behalf of immigrants and their families.

Lilly Teng, Senior Partner, Orchid Energy Group

Lilly Teng has over 34 years of experience in the USA and international energy industry, as a lawyer and commercial advisor covering the upstream (oil & gas), midstream (gas pipelines, LNG, and power), and downstream (petrochemical) for Asian and American clients. Prior to co-founding Orchid Energy, she held positions in gas marketing and transportation, project and business development, internal counsel, and private practice (Sonat, Union Texas Petroleum, Enron, Texaco, Chevron, Suez).

Thomas Wilson, Partner, Vinson & Elkins

Tom Wilson has more than 30 years of experience in labor and employment law, advising US based and international clients on matters related to managing a global workforce in US, Europe, Africa, South America and Asia (including China). Tom speaks regularly on international human rights and is the Chair of the International Human Rights Committee of the State Bar of Texas and Secretary of the Executive Counsel of the International Section.

Kristen N. Geyer, Culhane Meadows (Moderator)

Kristen Geyer represents sophisticated international banking, custody and technology clients in the US, Europe and Asia. After more than 30 years practicing in New York, Washington, London and Brussels, she maintains a global practice while working in Austin.
