Townes Hall Morning Coffee for all students every Monday morning. Please bring your favorite travel mug from home (we are “going green,” so no paper products will be provided) and enjoy FREE coffee every Monday morning to start off your week on behalf of the Alumni Association. Coffee will be located at one, large station located near the 1L Classrooms (by TNH 2.140, TNH 2.139, etc.) beginning at 8:45 am.
The Texas Federalist Society and the Asian Law Students Association present a debate about the Asian American challenge to Affirmative Action. Cory Liu from Students for Fair Admissions and Professor Levinson from UT Law will both be participating.
We plan to have an alumni panel for 1Ls to hear about the Texas Law Review. The hope is for the panel to be in Sheffield-Massey from 4:00pm until 5:30pm, followed by a reception in the atrium from 5:30pm until 7:00pm.
Approximately 60 students and around 15 lawyers, a networking event with themed tables about how to get the most of your summer internship. I will be providing my own food and drinks (beer/wine and snacks) However, I will be hiring a bartender.

March 8th is international Women's Day! Celebrate with Women's Law Caucus by donating to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We will be collecting donations of tampons, pads, and other hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, shaving supplies, and diapers in the atrium on March 8th from 10am to 3pm. We will also accept monetary donations. All donations will be given to Austin's SAFE.
SAFE is a merger of Austin Children's Shelter and SafePlace, dedicated to ending child abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. It provides housing, healing, and support for individuals and families affected by domestic violence, and sexual assault and exploitation through prevention and intervention services. In addition, the organization promotes safe and healthy relationships, increasing the capacity for abuse prevention in Central Texas.
Visit with judges and judicial staff over lunch about why judicial internships are valuable and the opportunities available for the upcoming summer and school year: U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas; U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas; Supreme Court of Texas; Texas Court of Criminal Appeals; Texas Third Court of Appeals; 345th Civil District Court, Travis County District; Travis County Probate Court; and the State Office of Administrative Hearings.

Informational session for 2L & 3L students who are interested in becoming Teaching Quizmasters (teaching assistants) for the JD legal-writing program and the LLM legal-writing course. You can get an information sheet and an application from your first-year legal writing teacher or from the table outside TNH 4.112. Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
