Townes Hall Morning Coffee for all students every Monday morning. Please bring your favorite travel mug from home (we are “going green,” so no paper products will be provided) and enjoy FREE coffee every Monday morning to start off your week on behalf of the Alumni Association. Attention 1Ls (Class of 2020): The Akin Gump/Robert Strauss Diversity Scholarship provides $25,000 to five outstanding (rising) second-year students at U.S. law schools to offset expenses for their third year of law school. The scholarships will be awarded to students who evidence a commitment to diversity in the legal profession, who demonstrate excellence and who can bring diverse viewpoints and experiences to the firm. In addition to the financial award, the scholarships include mentoring from firm lawyers and a paid second-year summer associate position in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York or Washington, D.C.

Akin Gump’s Phyllis Young, Partner; Roxanne Tizravesh, Counsel; and Litian Chen, Associate, will be available to answer questions about working at Akin Gump and the scholarship after the program in the Career Services Interview Suite.

Applications for the program will be accepted and considered on a rolling basis between July 2 and September 28, 2018. Candidates may apply to, and be considered by, only one Akin Gump office.
