    Townes Hall Monday Morning Coffee

    The Texas Law Alumni Association's Townes Hall Morning Coffee will kick off on Monday, January 28th, through the spring semester. Open to all students every Monday morning! Please bring your favorite travel mug (we are going green, so no paper products will be provided) and enjoy FREE coffee every Monday morning to start your week off right on behalf of the Alumni Association.     Meet the Austin Courts

    Visit with judges and judicial staff over lunch about why judicial internships are valuable and the opportunities available for the upcoming summer and school year. Representatives from the following courts will be in attendance: U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas; U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas; Supreme Court of Texas; Texas Court of Criminal Appeals; Texas Third Court of Appeals; 345th Civil District Court, Travis County District; Travis County Probate Court; State Office of Administrative Hearings.

    Movie Screening: Mother’s Day

    Join us for a screening and discussion of “Mother’s Day: The Forgotten Victims of Death Row” with director Linda Broocks, ’78.

    Between 1976 and 2016, the U.S. executed over 1400 people. The mothers of many of the condemned men and women testified at trial, pleading for the lives of their children. The intense grief these women feel is unacknowledged by society. Each of these mothers has a story to tell. This film presents just a few.

    A light dinner will be available before the screening.

    The Bar Exam Is Coming

    THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. If in doubt, verify with the web-based events calendar.

    Designed for students intending to take the bar in summer 2109, this session will introduce students to the different sections of the bar exam and the subject areas covered. Additionally, we'll discuss practical considerations for the bar exam study period. The session is also the introductory session of the optional Bar Exam Skills and Training three week workshop, which runs the three weeks after Spring Break. Pizza lunch will be served! Sponsored by the SAO.

    Mosaic Family Services, based in Dallas, acts as a safe haven for survivors of human rights abuses, including human trafficking and domestic violence. Come learn about opportunities with their legal services team, which has a focus on immigration and family law.
