    The 1L Mock Interview Program allows 1Ls to gain valuable interviewing experience and offer attorneys an opportunity to meet our exceptional students and introduce them to the legal interviewing process.

    Facilitating Group Dynamics and Decision

    Understanding group dynamics and how decisions are made are crucial to a facilitator's role in leading effective meetings. In this introductory course, participants will learn the principles of participatory decision-making as well as fundamental skill sets including listening and tracking group dialogue, chart writing techniques, building effective agendas, addressing challenging dynamics, and strategies for helping groups build sustainable agreements.

    The Texas Law Alumni Association's Townes Hall Morning Coffee will kick off on the first day of class Wednesday, August 28th, and continue on Mondays through the fall semester.     UT Professional Closet / SAFE Donations

    Join Texas Law's SBA and Society Program as we field donations to benefit UT's Professional Closet and Austin's SAFE Alliance. We'll be tabling Monday, November 18th and Tuesday, November 19th in the Atrium from 10am - 3pm.

    UT Outpost is a food pantry and career closet located on main campus. The goal of the career closet is to make sure every Longhorn has access to professional clothes for job and internship interviews.

    The SAFE Alliance exists to stop abuse for everyone by serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence. The SAFE Alliance is dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.

    All four presidents will be on hand to give brief updates and let us know what’s in store for the spring semester. Shavonne and Rick will also have a brief program, followed by opportunity for students to ask questions.     Coercive Contracts in the Age of #MeToo

    n the age of #MeToo and workplace sexual harassment, the role of coercive contracts in suppressing harassment claims, workplace abuses, and more have entered the public sphere. While non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) have become the most public form of coercive contracts, forced arbitration clauses, class action waivers, and non-compete clauses can also play a role in limiting worker rights and autonomy. During this discussion, we will discuss how these forms of contracts have come into play, ways in which we can protect workers' rights, and ongoing movements at all levels to eliminate the presence of coercive contracts, from Hollywood to the legal profession.
