n the age of #MeToo and workplace sexual harassment, the role of coercive contracts in suppressing harassment claims, workplace abuses, and more have entered the public sphere. While non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) have become the most public form of coercive contracts, forced arbitration clauses, class action waivers, and non-compete clauses can also play a role in limiting worker rights and autonomy. During this discussion, we will discuss how these forms of contracts have come into play, ways in which we can protect workers' rights, and ongoing movements at all levels to eliminate the presence of coercive contracts, from Hollywood to the legal profession.

The Texas Law Alumni Association's Townes Hall Morning Coffee will kick off on the first day of class Wednesday, August 28th, and continue on Mondays through the fall semester. Open to all students every Monday morning! Please bring your favorite travel mug (we are going green, so no paper products will be provided) and enjoy FREE coffee every Monday morning to start your week off right on behalf of the Alumni Association.
