    Townes Hall Monday Morning Coffee

    The Texas Law Alumni Association's Townes Hall Morning Coffee will kick off on Monday, January 28th, through the spring semester. Open to all students every Monday morning! Please bring your favorite travel mug (we are going green, so no paper products will be provided) and enjoy FREE coffee every Monday morning to start your week off right on behalf of the Alumni Association. Coffee will be located at one, large stations located near the 1L Classrooms (by TNH 2.140, TNH 2.319) beginning at 8:45am until it's gone, so get there early!

    Constitutional Studies Luncheon: Braver

    Constitutional Studies Luncheon, presenter Professor Joshua Braver, Harvard Law School. Talk Titled: We, the Mediated People: Popular Constitution-Making as Extra-ordinary Adaptation.

    Joshua is Climenko Fellow at Harvard Law and received his Ph.D from Yale Political Science and a J.D. from Yale Law School. His research includes court-packing and conflicts over how to make constitutions. Joshua’s work has been published in the International Journal of Constitutional Law and the Georgetown International Law Review and his co-authored casebook, the U.S. Constitution and Comparative Constitutional Law was published by Foundation Press. He has also published shorter pieces in a variety of outlets, such as Politico, Dissent and Talking Points Memo.

This course emphasizes the importance of practical experience in becoming an effective mediator. During frequent role-plays, each participant will mediate a variety of disputes with expert feedback.

    This course is designed to satisfy the 40 classroom hours of training required to mediate court-referred disputes as indicated in the Texas Alternative Dispute Resolution Act § 154.052, Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code Ann. This course also meets the Texas Mediator Trainers Roundtable's requirements.
