Constitutional Change Conference (Day Two)

CCJ 2.306 (Eidman Courtroom)

Scholars of constitutionalism will gather in Austin for this first-of-its-kind conference on “Constitution-Making and Constitutional Change.” Over 130 conference participants from more than 20 countries have been invited to attend.

The program will feature three components: (1) concurrent panels in which works-in-progress will be the focus of discussion; (2) a series of plenary lectures delivered by the Comparative Constitutionalism faculty at the University of Texas at Austin; and (3) two major plenary panels on new books in the field. The subjects of discussion will include constitutional amendment, constitutional reform, constitutional conventions, constitutional transitions, judicial interpretation and review, unwritten constitutional norms, revolution, secession, as well forms of direct democracy including popular initiatives and referendums.

This conference is convened by Professor Richard Albert (Texas) and is generously sponsored by The University of Texas Law School, the Constitutional Studies Program, and the Institute for Transnational Law.
