In a recent 5-4 ruling authored by Chief Justice Roberts, the U.S. Supreme Court in Department of Homeland Security v. Regents of the University of California halted President Trump's current efforts to rescind President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) initiative.

Join a discussion moderated by Melissa Wasserman (Tilford Professor of Law, University of Texas School of Law), featuring Christopher Walker (Bricker Professor of Law, Ohio State University's Moritz College of Law) and Jennifer Koh (Visiting Professor of Law, UC Irvine and Visiting Lecturer and Director of Immigration Clinic, University of Washington School of Law) as they break down the opinions in the case and consider what the ruling means for DACA recipients going forward.

The discussion will also explore why the White House has seemed to struggle with implementing policy goals under the Administrative Procedures Act, if the Administration has DACA options remaining before the president's current term ends, and the increasing importance of administrative law questions in adjudicating complex federal policy issues.

The first 50 Texas Law students to register will receive a $10 redemption code for DoorDash to enjoy a meal during the event.
