TJOGEL Roundtable Luncheon

Join TJOGEL and attorneys from a TJOGEL-sponsor firm for an hour of conversation regarding a multitude of topics, from the firm's position in the energy industry to how to be a great summer associate. This is a great networking opportunity, and it provides a chance to ask questions of practicing attorneys in an informal setting while enjoying lunch. Although these luncheons are primarily for 1Ls who want exposure to the industry, I encourage everyone to attend.

*Must be a member of the TJOGEL society to attend this event.

Regulatory Capture and Crony Capitalism

Please join the Texas Federalist Society and the Austin Lawyers Chapter for a conversation with Timothy Carney of the American Enterprise Institute. Mr. Carney covers the threat crony capitalism poses to the dynamism of the American economy and the integrity of governmental institutions. He will discuss how the explosion of the administrative state has been symbiotic with the growth of crony capitalism and how many segments of the American workforce have been victimized by the marriage of big government and big business.

Ex Parke: ZILKER

In lieu of our usual Bar Review, SBA will be hosting a weekly Ex Parke this semester on Thursday evenings! This is a great opportunity to meet students from other 1L sections as well as other class years. Each week we will visit a park for an outdoor, socially-distanced hangout. There will be blankets spread out so students can meet up in groups of no more than 10. We kindly ask that you arrive close to the assigned time for your class ye
