    Student Organizations Fair

    The Student Organizations Fair is hosted by the Student Bar Association and provides a great opportunity for law students to gain exposure to the wide array of student-run organizations offered at Texas Law! This event is designed to provide a space for students to connect and find their niche within the law school.

    The 2020-2021 Student Organizations Fair will be facilitated through Guidebook (the same platform used for the Freshlaw Orientation). There will be scheduled "events" for each organization from 11:30-2:30. Once you select an organization, there will be a link to guide you to their Zoom room. Each organization will have representatives available to answer questions and provide insight on their organization.

    There is no order in which you need to navigate through the various "events"/ links. Please, feel free to "hop in and out" of each organization's Zoom room at your leisure.

    U.S Army JAG Info Session

    All Texas Law students are welcome to learn more about the U.S. Army JAG program from Captain Levinia Lara, Field Screening Officer, who will answer questions about the Army JAG program, including summer internship and postgraduate opportunities. Judge Advocates are military attorneys responsible for offering legal support that involves military operations. They primarily focus on the areas of criminal law, legal assistance, civil/administrative law, labor/employment law, international/operational law, intelligence law, and contract/fiscal law.

    The Supreme Court's recent ruling on Senate Bill 8 has called into question the Supreme Court's use of the so-called "shadow docket." For those who have questions on what is the "shadow docket," how the Supreme Court approaches abortion and other constitutional issues, and what the next steps are in the litigation over reproductive rights in Texas, Professor Steve Vladeck, an expert on the "shadow docket," is here to answer your questions.
