Juan Melendez was exonerated in Florida in 2002 after serving 17 years on death row. Today, he's active in the innocence and death penalty abolition movements. Recently, he campaigned in support of a bill to end qualified immunity in his home state of New Mexico and spoke out in support of Julius Jones in Oklahoma. He was also featured in a March 2020 National Geographic article on death row exonerees.

Juan will join us to speak with students about his experience as a death row exoneree.
