    TLF Excellence in Public Interest Awards

    Texas Law Fellowships' annual Excellence in Public Interest Awards (EPIA) reception honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the public interest law field. This year, TLF will be hosting the EPIAs at the home of Bill and Stephanie Whitehurts on Sunday, April 3 at 5:30 PM.     Making Sure You Deliver at Your Firm

    The Texas Law Professional Development Series is taught by industry experts and practicing attorneys, covering facets of new attorney professionalism most sought after by legal employers. This must-attend program will help you prepare for your summer clerkship or postgraduate job.

    This session covers communication with the various stakeholders a junior associate will encounter in a law firm, from partners to clients to support staff including how expectations differ between partners and associates, and how to customize your communication style to the partner, the client, and your peers, and how to develop beneficial working relationships with the support staff at your firm. Panelists will offer tips and tools for communicating in a professional manner across a diverse and inclusive law firm environment, including a discussion about the role that technology/social media/apps/texting plays in your communications and legal practice.

    Working as a Summer Intern for a non-profit or public interest organization is an extremely rewarding experience. However, it is not without its difficulties, and many students report feeling burnt out or overwhelmed by the amount of work to be done in these spaces. Please join Texas Law ACS and TLAP for a Compassion Fatigue training and give yourself the tools to balance the weight of the issues, your work in a nonprofit space, and your own personal health and wellbeing.

    TJOGEL Spring Happy Hour

    TJOGEL's Spring Happy will be on Thursday, April 7 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The location for the Happy Hour is still being decided. Beverages and Hors d'Oeuvres will be served, and we will be inviting lawyers from many different firms and companies to attend the event. Since the law school does not allow us to pay for more than 2 drinks per student, you will only receive two drink tickets when you check in, but there will be a cash bar to purchase more beverages. Attire is business casual. Dues must be paid to RSVP.
