    The Legal Landscape Post-Dobbs

    Join If/When/How for a post-Dobbs conversation with Texas Law Professors Elizabeth Sepper and Steve Vladeck. The discussion will focus on the Dobbs decision, its ramifications for substantive due process, the novel legal strategies playing out in the courts, and the current landscape of abortion rights—and lack thereof—in Texas and throughout the country.     Fall Litigation Institute

    Free litigation workshop for students interested in learning/strengthening communication skills and trial skills. Workshop will take place four Friday afternoons at the beginning of the semester (do not have to attend all four). Weekly topic schedule below. Students will hear a brief lecture on the specific days topic and will then breakout in to small groups, led by local practitioners, where they will learn by doing.

    Weekly Schedule: 8/26 - Public Speaking/Effective Communication; 9/2 - Storytelling/Opening Statements; 9/16 - Direct Examination; 9/23 - Cross Examination.

    Any students welcome. Highly recommended for any students interested in participating in interscholastic mock trial.

    Careers in National Security Law

    On Wednesday, September 7, Professors Adam Klein, Chinny Sharma, and Steve Vladeck will discuss “Careers in National Security Law: Five Things You Need to Know” with interested students. Professors Klein and Sharma will introduce the Strauss Center and its programs, joined by Professor Vladeck to talk about careers in national security, and answer students’ questions in an informal format. They’ll also discuss how students can be a part of the Strauss Center’s National Security Law Student Fellowsprogram, which provides credentials, networking opportunities, and career support to UT Law students.
