Join LLM Alums José María Lujambio ‘14 and Julian Garza ‘99 as they discuss working in the energy law sector.

José María Lujambio is a partner at Cacheaux, Cavazos, and Newton.

His work for clients has included regulatory and permitting advice, as well as the preparation and negotiation of various types of contracts for the electricity sector, representing utility-scale and onsite power plant projects deploying solar photovoltaic, wind, and cogeneration technologies; qualified suppliers and traders enabled to participate in the Wholesale Electricity Market, and numerous end users, particularly from the manufacturing industry. Likewise, he has advised various natural gas and oil products’ midstream and downstream companies, both in regulatory and transactional aspects.

He currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Association of Solar Energy (ASOLMEX).

Julian Garza is a partner at Nader, Hayaux, and Goebel. His practice areas include banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, telecom, and structured and project finance. Julian has worked in some of the largest structured finance and and capital market transactions, representing both sponsors and financial intermediaries. His mergers and acquisitions practice expands to a variety of industries, including real estate, telecom, financial intermediaries and infrastructure facilities, advising on foreign investment acquisitions, joint venture transactions, and more.

Julian is a member of the National Association of Corporate Counsels.
