TIPLJ and IPLS will be hosting a panel of students who have spent their summers working in different areas of Intellectual Property Law. The students will answer questions about getting jobs, networking, and what things to focus on heading into Final Exams.

This will be a day-long convening on October 22, 2024 on xenophobia, migration, and human rights in the US-Mexico borderlands, in connection with a United Nations (UN) effort to address xenophobia impacting migrants. The convening will consist of two events: (1) a meeting of academic and civil society experts to provide input on the draft of a General Comment/Recommendation document that will be issued by the UN Committee against Racial Discrimination (CERD) and the UN Committee on the Rights of Migrant Workers (CMW); and (2) a public panel with UN representatives and high-profile academics and policy makers to consider interdisciplinary strategies for addressing xenophobia at the border and in immigration enforcement law, policy, and practice. The Premiere Trial Competition is an interscholastic mock trial competition created by UCLA School of Law. It is limited to students making their "premieres" -- students who have never participated in an external law school trial competition.

Texas Law will be one of three host sites for this year's Premiere competition (the other sites will be in Los Angeles & Philadelphia).
