Judge Herman and/or Judge Chu from the Travis County Probate Court may be in attendance. Many of our wards under guardianship are there as well.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, October 29, on TEX. Pizza will be served.

Interested in a judicial internship for Spring 2025? Get an insider's look from your classmates who have been through it. Judicial internships are rare and coveted opportunities: they offer hands-on experience in some of the most demanding, dynamic, and exciting legal environments. They’re also one of the few ways to get “behind the scenes” of the judicial decision-making process while you’re still in law school. UT Law is at the center of judicial excellence in the country, and there are numerous opportunities at both the state and federal levels (trial and appellate), covering a variety of complex legal issues. You’ll learn how to find a good fit and apply, and how to parlay your coursework into a one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunity. We’ll also discuss the course component of the internship, which focuses on enhancing your experience with legal writing, confidentiality and ethics, professionalism, and judicial decision-making.

Moderated by Judge Vasu Behara, Director of the Judicial Internship Program.

Note for 1Ls: Be on the lookout early in the spring term for our program focusing on summer judicial internships.

    MPRE Practice Exam

The November MPRE will be here before you know it! When it comes to high-stakes testing, practice makes passing, and we have a great opportunity for you to get in some practice under exam-like conditions. On Friday November 1 at 1pm, Bethany Pierpont, attorney and director from Helix Bar Review will host a Simulated MPRE Exam in Room TN 2.137. Donuts will be provided.

Even if you don't feel like you're ready for it, completing a simulated exam before attempting the actual MPRE is a great way to get in the right mindset for the test - to help you know what to expect so that you can feel confident walking into the testing center. The feedback you receive from your simulated MPRE will give you a snapshot of your current areas of strength - and weakness - so you know where to focus your efforts between now and exam day.

Here's how you can take part in this event (please note registration is a multiple step process):

    1. Register here by Wednesday October 30: https://go.helixbarreview.org/l/992142/2024-07-23/nzrly 2. Enroll in the November Helix MPRE (for free) no later than Thursday October 31: https://enroll.helixbarreview.org/helix-mpre/ 3. Show up on Friday November 1 @ 1pm in Room TN 2.137 with your laptop and charging cord to complete the Simulated exam within Helix MPRE. It will be 2.5 hours well spent!

If you have any questions, or need assistance enrolling in the Helix MPRE course, please do not hesitate to contact Bethany Pierpont (bpierpont@helixbarreview.org).
