GRITS is a student-run, public interest law conference that focuses on the difficulties and constraints inherent to social justice work in the South, and the unique strategies that legal practitioners and other public interest workers have developed to meet those needs.
This session of the conference will train attendees how to serve as legal observers. Legal observers are trained volunteers who attend demonstrations and other public events to monitor and document interactions between law enforcement and the public. While legal observing can always be an important skill, it is especially timely now.
