Community Care: Gender, Animal Protection, and Criminal Justice Who: Women’s Law Caucus (WLC) and Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) What: General Body Meeting and Collaborative Panel Discussion Where: Location TBD (Texas Law) When: March 2nd | 11:50 AM – 12:50 PM
The first half of the program will include General Body Announcements for Women’s Law Caucus members, including updates on upcoming events and opportunities.
Following announcements, the Women’s Law Caucus and the Animal Legal Defense Fund will host a collaborative discussion exploring the intersection of gender law, animal law, and criminal law. Panelists will discuss legal and policy considerations surrounding shelters that accommodate pets and how access to pet-friendly safe housing can directly impact survivor safety and autonomy. All students interested in advocacy, intersectional justice, and public interest law are encouraged to attend.
