The Law of/and the 2020 Elections

The upcoming (and ongoing) elections have already provoked a flood of litigation and legal questions, and are likely to only raise additional questions as we get closer to—and perhaps even after—election day. What are the basic ground rules for presidential elections? How has COVID affected those rules? Why are there seemingly so many lawsuits about the election already? And are we headed for another Bush v. Gore? Join a panel of experts for an open discussion of (some of) the many ways the law and lawyers could have a lot to say about what happens in November.

Panelists: Reed Clay, Founder and CEO, Crestline Solutions and former COO, State of Texas Joey Fishkin, The Marrs McLean Professor in Law, UT Law Mimi Marziani, President, Texas Civil Rights Project and Adjunct Professor, UT Law

Moderator: Steve Vladeck, Charles Alan Wright Chair in Federal Courts, UT Law

    Law School 101: Stress Management

Law school stress is unique. We all need strategies to handle all that needs to be done, learned, and demonstrated in the course of a semester. Along with current 2Ls and 3Ls, Kelsey Lammey (Longhorn Wellness Center) will discuss the unique pressures on law students and how to manage them. This session will use break out rooms to give you a chance to get to know classmates outside of your section. Join Zoom Meeting https://utexas.zoom.us/j/92984362174
