Thanks to collaboration between the Domestic Violence Clinic and the Human Rights Clinic, on April 8, 2014, the Travis County Commissioner’s Court passed a resolution in which the county officially recognizes domestic violence as a human rights concern and “the county declares that freedom from domestic violence is a fundamental human right.” On April 17 the Austin City Council passed a similar resolution for the city.
