My clinic work has defined my law school experience. In the Immigration Clinic, my clinic partner and I successfully represented a client in a gender-based asylum case. I very much enjoyed the many opportunities for collaboration as well as forming a relationship with our client. As part of the Advanced Immigration and Civil Rights Clinics, I further developed my interest in immigration law through work on cases involving family detention. The strength of the women and children detained in Karnes County has been a continuing source of inspiration for me. I am grateful to the clinics at UT for helping me remember why I came to law school, providing me with incredible mentorship, and solidifying my commitment to social justice lawyering.
