Michael Peterson is a Managing Director at the Pemberton Economic Group and a Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business. Mike teaches graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship courses that focus on identifying opportunities for new technologies, market validation, building a team, funding a venture, and landing the first customer.
In his role at the Pemberton Economic Group, he has conducted in-depth evaluations of over 30 early stage innovations with market potential of $7.3B+. Analysis includes market size, competitive intelligence, market interest and an assessment of risks and barriers to successful product launch. Prior to joining the Pemberton Economic Group in 2010, Mike ran a division for International Paper as a General Manager.
Mike holds a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization (MSTC) from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, an MBA from Brigham Young University and a BA in Communications from Brigham Young University.
