Annual Beck Center Awards

The David J. Beck Center for Legal Research, Writing, and Appellate Advocacy Annual Awards recognize Texas Law students for their excellence in legal writing and advocacy. First-year students are recognized for demonstrating their commitment to perfecting their communication skills. Upper-division students are recognized for their service as Teaching Quizmasters.

At the annual awards program, the Beck Center faculty announce the first-year students receiving Outstanding Memo and The Review of Litigation Best Brief awards as well as winners of the Thad T. Hutcheson Moot Court competition. The ceremony culminates with the announcement of the year’s winners of the Beck Award, the prestigious award given to students who demonstrate outstanding performance in both Legal Analysis and Communication and Persuasive Writing and Advocacy.
