The Alternatives to Guardianship Project provides legal information and counseling about alternatives to guardianship to individuals with disabilities and their families/supporters. The Project also prepares documents for alternatives to guardianship, which may include powers of attorney, psychiatric advance directives, and supported decision-making agreements as appropriate for the individual circumstances of the people receiving services from the Project.
Persons with disabilities who are interested in attending an upcoming Alternatives to Guardianship Clinic should complete this survey, with the help of their supporters if needed. Please feel free to share this link.
At an Alternatives to Guardianship Clinic, the person with disabilities will be the primary participant at the clinic and must be present to sign any legal documents that are prepared. Supporters can attend the clinic and can participate with the primary participant’s consent.
