Student will assist a private attorney in providing pro bono representation to a client who is seeking asylum. The client is from Cameroon and seeks asylum based on LGBTQ status. Student will compile an index of country conditions exhibits and may assist with drafting the brief in support of the asylum petition. Asylum is available to immigrants who have fled their home countries because of persecution and/or torture due to their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
