Texas Law Asylum Workshop

Students will help asylum seekers from Venezuela and Colombia prepare applications for asylum. Students will work in pairs to provide information about the asylum process, interview asylum seekers to gather necessary information, and to complete USCIS asylum forms. Asylum is available to immigrants who have fled their home countries because of persecution and/or torture due to their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.

Organization

Mithoff Pro Bono Program

The Asylum Workshop is an internal project of the Mithoff Pro Bono Program, hosted in partnership with the Texas Law Immigration Clinic and Casa Marianella.
