Asylum Workshop

Students will help residents of Casa Marianella prepare applications for asylum. Students will work in pairs to provide information about the asylum process, interview asylum seekers to gather necessary information, and complete USCIS asylum application forms. Asylum is available to immigrants who have fled their home countries because of persecution and/or torture due to their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.

Organization

The Asylum Workshop is hosted in partnership with Casa Marianella. Casa Marianella is an Austin-based organization that welcomes displaced migrants and promotes self-sufficiency by providing shelter and supportive services.
