    12th Annual Energy Symposium 12th Annual

    Headlined by Michael K. Wirth and Daniel Yergin, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, this year’s Energy Symposium will convene industry leaders, faculty, and students for a series of insightful panel discussions.     2026 Fall Litigation Institute

    A focused, 4-part introduction to advocacy skills. Open to all second- and third-year law students, the FLI is a hands-on crash course designed to allow students of all experience levels to learn new skills or hone existing ones. Students work directly with Texas Law’s interscholastic mock trial coaches and instructors to focus on skills necessary to communicate effectively as a lawyer as well as successfully compete in a mock trial competition. Even those not interested in competing, but currently enrolled in an advocacy course, may find this program a useful complement to their coursework.

    The 2026 Fall Litigation Institute will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. (with lunch provided beginning at 12:30 pm) over four Fridays. You are free to participate in any/all sessions but must SIGN-UP to do so. Sign up sheet available at shortly before start of Fall semester. • Week 1: Friday, August 28th – Public Speaking / Effective Communication • Week 2: Friday, September 4th – Storytelling / Opening Statements • Week 3: Friday, September 18th – Direct Examinations • Week 4: Friday, September 25th – Cross Examinations

    2026 Alumni Awards

    Alumni Awards is a signature event of the Texas Law Alumni Association, celebrating graduates whose careers, leadership, and service exemplify the very best of our community. The 2026 celebration will take place Friday, September 18, with dinner and an awards ceremony recognizing the Outstanding Young Alum, Distinguished Alum for Community Service, Outstanding Alum, and Lifetime Achievement honorees. The Mentor of the Year will also be honored.
