Civil procedure is often presented as a neutral framework governing access to the courts. Join Professor Dickerson for an alternative curriculum discussion exploring how race and power shape procedural law, including the ways due process protections have been threatened in majority-Black communities. This conversation invites critical reflection on whether procedural rules truly advance fairness and equal justice.

Texas Federalist Society is hosting a debate on whether it is proper for law enforcement authorities to use ethnicity when making immigration stops. We will host James Rogers from America First Legal and Professor Maria Ponomarenko from the University of Texas School of Law to discuss this issue. Chick-fil-a will be provided!

⚖️ Beyond the Bench: A Judicial Panel

The Women’s Law Caucus, in collaboration with the Career Services Office, invites all law students to join a panel of judges for an engaging discussion on careers in the law and life on the bench. Judges will share professional insights, career paths, and advice for aspiring attorneys, followed by a Q&A. All law students are welcome to attend.
