    PSCF - Preselect Scheduling Begins

    Preselected students may begin scheduling via the Texas Consortium Symplicity Module for Public Service Career Fair, which is the largest public service job fair for law students in Texas.

    Scheduling for preselected students ends at noon on Friday, January 17, 2014. Alternate students may begin scheduling available interviews at 1:00 p.m. Alternate scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Akin Gump Pro Bono Scholar Info Session

    (Actual time is from 1:15-2:05 p.m.) Students interested in making pro bono work an important part of their law firm careers are invited to learn more about the benefits of pro bono work. Steven Schulman, Partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP (Washington, DC), will discuss law firm pro bono programs and the importance of pro bono service in your legal career. Information on Akin Gump’s Pro Bono Scholars Program will also be provided. Akin Gump’s Pro Bono Scholars program is now available in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, DC. Upon commencement of work at the public interest organization, Pro Bono Scholars will receive a stipend of $20,000, and are paid the standard summer associate salary while at the firm.     Professional Development Institute

    The UT Law Professional Development Institute: Prepared For Practice will be taught by industry experts and practicing attorneys, covering facets of new attorney professionalism most sought after by legal employers. It is promoted widely to employers, many of whom contributed to the content of this program. This program is open to all UT Law J.D. students. Lunch will be served.

    Law Firm Track will be held on Thursdays, January 23-February 27, 2014 from 11:50 a.m.-12:50 p.m. in the Francis Auditorium.

    Public Service Track will be on Saturday, February 1, from 9:00 a.m.-3:45 p.m. in the Eidman Courtroom / Jamail Pavilion.
