    Careers in Entertainment Law

    Paul Marchegiani, Director of Business Affairs at NBCUniversal, will discuss various careers in entertainment law. He has more than 10 years of high-level legal experience in the entertainment industry and has taught entertainment law classes as an adjunct professor at UC Berkeley and Chapman University. While he has deep knowledge in substantive television and legal affairs knowledge, he also has litigation experience in high-stakes IP, contract, securities, appellate and white collar criminal cases. He will also be on hand to answer any questions about NBCUniversal’s legal internship program. Co-sponsored by the Texas Review of Entertainment and Sports Law.

    Public Service Debt Management

    This workshop is designed for 3Ls entering public interest law, government service, or any other field that qualifies for federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Explore federal loan repayment and loan forgiveness programs and the UT Law Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) in greater depth in a small group setting. Bring your laptops and your questions. Nicole Simmons, Director of Public Service Programs in the CSO, Mary Crouter, Assistant Director of the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law, and Mario Villa, Director of Student Recruitment and Financial Aid with the UT Law Financial Aid Office will facilitate the session. Students attending should be familiar with the material presented by Heather Jarvis from her presentation, “Public Service Loan Forgiveness in Five Easy Steps” (search the CSO eLibrary for a link to the presentation).

    The Review of Litigation Panel Luncheon

    Presented by The Review of Litigation, this panel luncheon will feature associate attorneys from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, McKool Smith, and Sidley Austin, who will talk about what they did in law school that has helped them in their practice. They will discuss valuable classes they took and extracurricular activities they found to be helpful.
