    Practitioner Panel: Indigent Defense

    Learn about careers in indigent defense from Texas Law alumni and friends serving as public defenders. Panelists will discuss their careers and offer advice on how to land a job as a public defender. Panelists include Jessica Brand, Attorney, Fair Punishment Project; Genesis Draper, ’06, Assistant Federal Public Defender, Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Texas (Houston); Katy Dyer, Director of Holistic Defense, Capital Area Private Defender Service; and Rhiannon Hamam, ‘16, Attorney, Starr County Public Defender, Texas RioGrande Legal Aid. Moderated by Chris Roberts, Clinical Professor and Director of the Texas Law Criminal Defense Clinic.
