    TX Feb '13 Bar Exam App Timely Deadline

    Reminder for 3Ls planning to sit for the Texas February 2013 Bar Exam: in order for your In-State Application to Take the TX Bar Exam to be considered timely-filed it must be postmarked by Aug. 30. This deadline is strictly enforced. A $150 late fee will apply for all applications filed after Aug. 30 and up to the Oct. 30 absolute postmark deadline.

    Applicants who have not yet filed their Declaration of Intention to Study Law must do so prior to or with their In-State Application.

Logically applying rules to various sets of facts is a fundamental skill necessary for successful exam taking and legal practice. You have only really learned “the law” when you can apply it.     "Declaration of Intent" Timely Deadline

    The Declaration of Intent to Study Law must be filed by all persons who have begun their law study at ABA-approved schools in Texas and intend to apply for licensure in Texas.

    Your Declaration must be filed or postmarked by October 1st to be considered timely-filed. A $150 late fee will be imposed on all Declarations filed after October 1st.

    The TX BLE office is not open on weekends; if you would like to hand deliver your completed application by the end of the Monday, October 1st business day, the TX BLE office is located at:

    You're encouraged to arrive well in advance of the 5 PM closing time.

    Late-filing Declarants may file at any time prior to or concurrent with the filing of their In-State Application to Take the Texas Bar Exam.
