    Mandates and Anti-Mandates

    One need not look far to see major public debates and disputes over mask and vaccination mandates and anti-mandates, i.e., statewide bans on such mandates. But what are the relevant legal questions surrounding these mandates and anti-mandates? How should we begin to try to answer these questions? And who gets the last word on those answers? Join a panel of experts from both inside and outside the Texas Law faculty, who will not only lead a wide-ranging discussion of these issues, but who will do their best to answer your questions.

    Student Organizations Fair

    The Student Organizations Fair is hosted by the Student Bar Association and provides a great opportunity for law students to gain exposure to the wide array of student-run organizations offered at Texas Law! This event is designed to provide a space for students to connect and find their niche within the law school.

    The 2020-2021 Student Organizations Fair will be facilitated through Guidebook (the same platform used for the Freshlaw Orientation). There will be scheduled "events" for each organization from 11:30-2:30. Once you select an organization, there will be a link to guide you to their Zoom room. Each organization will have representatives available to answer questions and provide insight on their organization.

    There is no order in which you need to navigate through the various "events"/ links. Please, feel free to "hop in and out" of each organization's Zoom room at your leisure.

    Law School 101:Effective Time Management

    Effective studying for law school isn't usually about how much; it's about how and when. The SAO will discuss effective time management strategies for law students. The session will also be broadcast on Zoom and be recorded.

    Safety Education Program training

    All registered and sponsored graduate and undergraduate student organizations must complete the Safety Education Program on an annual basis each fall semester. To help our student organization leaders meet this requirement the Student Affairs Office has scheduled a training session to take place in the law school.

    Society T-Shirt Day

    Law students are encouraged to support their Society pride by donning their Society shirts. 2Ls/3Ls and faculty who wear their Society shirts can stop by the table in the atrium so we can make sure they are counted as part of our Society games.
