Registering Students to Vote in Travis County

In lieu of our usual Bar Review, SBA will be hosting a weekly Ex Parke this semester on Thursday evenings! This is a great opportunity to meet students from other 1L sections as well as other class years. Each week we will visit a park for an outdoor, socially-distanced hangout. There will be blankets spread out so students can meet up in groups of no more than 10. We kindly ask that you arrive close to the assigned time for your class year in the schedule below. You are welcome to stay longer than 30 minutes, but this schedule should help keep us from having too many people showing up at once. Although we will be off-campus, City of Austin and Zilker Park rules still apply. This requires wearing a mask, maintaining 6 feet of distance from others, congregating in groups of no more than 10, and no alcoholic beverages. Masks are required at all times unless you are snacking in an area we will designate. The Trail Advocacy Program will meet every other Saturday morning for hiking some of the greatest vistas ATX has to offer. The first Trail Advocacy hike will be at Town Lake on Saturday, September 12th. In accordance with City of Austin standards, we will hike in groups of no more than 10 and adhere to the current social-distancing guidelines. To join our first hike, please sign up on the SBA lawmail.

Below is the tentative schedule: 9/12 Lady Bird Lake, ~3 miles, easy hike, beautiful City-scape Instagram opportunities, and cooler temperatures 9/26 St. Edwards Park, ~3-4 miles, easy, hill country Insta opportunities, and explore outside the city of Austin 10/10 Hamilton Green Belt, 5 miles, easy, very pretty 10/24 River Place, 5.5 miles moderate, more work but pretty drive out 11/7 Turkey Creek, 3 miles, moderate

The Student Bar Association is excited to announce our first trivia night of the semester! In teams of 3-6, students will be competing for gift cards to Texas Law Fellowships' upcoming auction on October 1st. TLF Annual Fall Auction raises funds for Texas Law Fellowships to allow us to provide fellowships to public interest students each summer.

1st place team will receive a $150 gift card to the Auction, 2nd team will receive a $100 gift card, and 3rd place team will receive a $50 gift card.
