Jeana A. Lungwitz

Jeana Lungwitz, J.D., Clinical Professor and director of the Domestic Violence Clinic, The University of Texas School of Law, graduated law school in 1989.  She began working with survivors of domestic violence in 1991 through volunteer work and as a Staff Attorney with the Texas Advocacy Project, Inc. (formerly the Women’s Advocacy Project, Inc.). She later became the Legal Services Director of that organization and opened a private practice focused on representing survivors of domestic violence. She co-founded the Domestic Violence Clinic at U.T. with Sarah Buel in 1997.   

She is an appointed member of the Supreme Court Protective Order Taskforce, and since 1991 has given presentations at the state and national level on legal issues affecting those abused by their intimate partners.  In the Domestic Violence Clinic she supervises law students as they represent survivors of domestic violence primarily in civil cases and parole matters.
