Journal of Law and Technology at Texas

The Journal of Law and Technology at Texas (JOLTT) is dedicated to exploring the intersection of law and technology. JOLTT covers all aspects of technology law including privacy, e-commerce, internet freedom, medical technology, telecommunications, and more.

Founded in 2016, JOLTT consistently publishes legal scholarship and was sponsored by the law school in 2019. We also maintain an online platform (www.jolttx.com) highlighting shorter, less formal pieces of legal thought leadership. JOLTT is an entrepreneurial journal, focused on providing space for students and practitioners to discuss all things law and technology and to zero in on their specific interests. We regularly host on-campus speaking events and panels with attorneys from major firms and technology companies. In the past, events have highlighted legal questions on cybersecurity, autonomous vehicles, startups, space law and more. We seek to leverage our position in a major technology market at a top law school to provide unique opportunities to our members and serve as a platform to scholars and practitioners.
