    Novice Moot Court Tournament

    BOA's first intramural tournament of the year is a novice moot court competition. Any BOA member who has not competed in either an intramural or interscholastic moot court competition is eligible to compete. There will be two preliminary rounds after which the top 4 teams will advance to the semifinals the following week.

    Breaking Bread With Black Men

    Breaking Bread with Black Men is a Thurgood Marshall Legal Society (TMLS) flagship event that brings together Black men in the law school community, including students, faculty, and alumni, for an evening of shared food and conversation. The event fosters mentorship, connection, and a sense of belonging across generations of the legal profession.

    Movement Lawyering: From the U.S. South

    Join us for a conversation with Azadeh Shahshahani as she talks about her work in the U.S. South and support for social movements in the Global South as a movement lawyer. She will discuss the theory of change behind movement lawyering, what movement lawyering looks like in practice, and how to prepare for a career as a movement lawyer during law school.

    The event will take place in the Eidman Courtroom (CCJ 2.306) from 11:50 AM to 12:50PM. Lunch will be provided in the Jamail Pavilion immediately following the discussion. 

    About Azadeh Shashahani and her visit to Texas Law as the Justice Center’s fourteenth G. Rollie White Public Interest Scholar in Residence.
