    How To Succeed in Your Summer Clerkship

    Joe Noel, Reference Librarian and Lecturer with the Tarlton Law Library will talk about legal research strategies for summer clerkship assignments. He’ll discuss how to familiarize yourself with your firm's research environment, what questions to ask when you receive an assignment, and best practices for deciding where to start your research.

    1L Etiquette Dinner Sign Up

    Space is limited to the first 75 1Ls! 1L sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9:00 p.m. on TUESDAY, MARCH 10, on Symplicity.

    Learn the finer points of business dining and protocol over a three-course seated dinner presented by Mary Crane (www.marycrane.com). Guests will receive a copy of her latest book, 100 Things You Need to Know: Business Etiquette: For Students and New Professionals. The dinner and book giveaway are generously sponsored by Locke Lord LLP, who will be hosting a cocktail reception for registered attendees prior to dinner from 6:15-7:00 p.m. All guests should be seated for dinner by 7:00 p.m. Dress is business casual.

    Careers in International Law

    The State Bar of Texas International Law Section and the Career Services Office present an informal talk by lawyers who practice international law. Come learn the different paths each of the participants took out of law school to become international lawyers. Learn about what their practice is like (big firm, in-house, business and boutique) and learn the pros and cons of practicing international law. The presentation will be informal with ample opportunity for questions and to meet the participants. If you are interested in international law, don’t miss this presentation!

    Access to Justice Internship Program

    The Access to Justice Internship Program is now accepting applications funding internships during summer 2015 for students working in nonprofit civil legal aid organizations. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2015. This year, we have expanded the guidelines to include applications for interns working in both rural and urban offices.
