    Law School 101: What's Next?

    Dean Bangs and Brandi Welch will discuss how to approach your second semester. Whether you were satisfied with your performance on exams or not, there are a few strategies all law students may attempt to better performance in the Spring. We'll also discuss how to approach professors with questions about exam answers. Pizza lunch will be served!

    1L Mandatory Academic Advising Session

    All first year students must attend this academic advising session. The sessions take place on Tuesday, February 12 and Wednesday, February 13. Both will take place at 3:30pm in the Auditorium. Choose one of the two session to attend. Make sure that you sign in at the session.

    Dean Bangs will review your graduation requirements, upper-class curricular opportunities, and course seleciton considerations.

    All first year students will receive meeting invitations for one on one advising meetings, which will take place in the three weeks before Spring Break. Early Registration for Fall 2018 will begin on March 26.

    Classroom Experience: Mock Law School Class 11:00 AM - 11:40 AM | TNH - Townes Hall, 2.137 Have you ever thought about going to law school? Join Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Elizabeth Bangs for a mock "trial" of a Law School class and to learn what life is like as a law student.

    Lecture: So You Want to Go to Law School 12:00 PM - 12:40 PM | TNH - Townes Hall, 2.137 Get an overview of the application process and requirements for Law School admission. Learn about steps to take early in an academic career to better prepare for law school consideration.

    Performance: Gold E. Locks Mock Trial 1:00 PM - 1:40 PM, 3:00 PM - 3:40 PM | CCJ - John B. Connally Center for Justice, Eidman Courtroom Law students perform in a mock trial with Gold E. Locks, a well-known storybook figure, as the defendant. The Honorable Don Willett, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, presides. Children in the courtroom will be selected to serve as the jurors.
